Zebulon stepped up in class after his unlucky second at Werribee on debut a fortnight ago to win in good style here. He was trapped deep from his wide barrier (14) and raced midfield but with cover. He fanned very wide at the home turn, put in a strong run to hit the lead at the 200m and then drew away to win impressively by a length and three quarters. The favourite Profit Share raced rather keenly in the early stages, probably due to the moderate early tempo, travelling in about sixth spot. He switched wide coming to the home turn, took the lead at the 300m and then battled on quite well for second while the Darley-raced Allergic ran on quite well from ninth at the home turn to take third. *ANZ
