The Tony McEvoy-trained colt Royal Symphony followed his easy win on debut in a 2YO Maiden (1200m) at Pakenham on 25 May with a most impressive victory, stepping up in class here. He was ridden quietly from barrier nine and remained last in the 12-horse field before going widest of all on straightening. He then put in a really quick run, hit the front at the 200m and then raced away to score, seemingly with plenty in hand. He looks a classy colt with a very bright future.
