Two-year-old Howdee followed recent placed form to score his first win in six starts. The Robbie Griffith-trained gelding was ridden patiently and settled in fifth place one off the rails. He switched wide at the home turn, took a moment to wind-up but came with strong late run to win well. The Colin Little-prepared Unalaska made a good debut. He was wide early before settling to race outside the leader. He took the lead on straightening and was only caught in the closing stages for a good second. *ANZ
