Three-year-old gelding Recalcitrata won very well here, his first win in five starts and at his third run this preparation. He was smartly away from barrier three, settled in fourth place, between runners, before easing wider and into clear running at the 300m. He took the lead at the 150m and dashed clear to win easily. Mick Pricetrained colt Windchaser was caught deep from barrier nine, moved up to third (without cover) at the 700m, got to the front at the 200m and did well in holding on for second in a good effort on debut.
