Greg Eurell-trained three-year-old Fire Agate put up a promising effort winning here on debut. He began well and settled nicely outside the leader (Penrhos). He put pressure on that runner nearing the home turn, got to the front at the 100m and despite racing a bit greenly, he went on to win well. It was a good effort and he will be improved by the experience.
