The Toby Edmonds-trained filly Houtzen was promoted to favouritism for next Saturday’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1200m) backing up her stylish debut win at Doomben on 24 December with an even more impressive win here. She again showed speed to lead, then travelled well in front, dashed clear on turning for home and then went on to score effortlessly. Make My Own Luck was back in sixth place in the eight-horse field, improved to fourth at the 200m and kept running on well for second, having no chance with the winner while Sista Act was second to the home turn and held on to take the minor placing.
