King’s Tariff is promising. He showed good pace and settled in second place outside the leader. He took the lead approaching the 200m but he raced greenly from that point, veering wide, however he still had sufficient in hand and went on for a good win, his first in three starts. The Darley-raced colt Oils was back in fifth place on the rails to the turn. He got to third at the 200m and fought on for second, without threatening the winner. The Gerald Ryan-trained Galeforce Ten came from midfield to finish third while the Gai Waterhouse-trained Our Boy Nicholas ($2.50 fav) was trapped wide from his outside barrier (12) and he did well, running on quite nicely for a sound first-up fourth. *ANZ
