Two-year-old filly Alluvion resumed after only two prior starts, both in stakes class, to score her first win in promising fashion. She was slow to move but recovered well along the rails from her good barrier (3) to share the lead. She got a bit of a break at the 200m and then fought back gamely to score a game win, sprinting home in smart time (33.74 last 600m). She is a filly to watch. Peter and Paul Snowden-trained gelding Calanda also went well. He was caught deep from his wide barrier (10) racing outside the leading group before putting in a good run (wide out) from the 200m. He challenged at the 100m and battled gamely for second in a promising debut.
