I’m Wesley took his winning sequence of six with a good performance in scoring here. He began well, settled nicely in third place on the rails, enjoying a nice trip behind a good tempo before moving up on turning for home. He got to the front at the 100m and went on to win well, his 11th in 27 starts and his second at stakes level. Hellova Street returned to Tasmania after his recent successful trip to Melbourne and went to the front as expected, but he was then pressured by his Scott Brunton-trained stablemate (Box Of Frogs). He lifted gamely when then challenged by the eventual winner on straightening and then fought well for second after working in the early stages. Gee Gees Top Notch raced back in fifth place, one of the rails. She improved (under riding) nearing the home turn and then battled on well to take the minor placing.
