The Gai Waterhouse-trained filly Amanpour broke through for her first win in seven starts in impressive fashion, stepping up to 1800m. She went straight to the lead and ran along at a solid pace (first 1200m 1:13.92). She set up a big lead in the mid-stages and was never threatening, running the distance out strongly, to win by six and three quarter lengths. She looks a very promising staying filly. Into The Groove chased the winner all the way and battled on for a distant second. *ANZ
