Inkling has now raced three times for two wins and looks a promising colt. He began well and settled outside the leader Sheer Style travelling at a moderate early tempo. Sheer Style sprinted clear on straightening and he set out after her in good fashion, he hit the lead at the 100m and then drew clear to score nicely by a length and a quarter from Sheer Style, who battled on quite well to take second. Tudor was fourth to the 600m, went to third at the 200m and held that position to the post, beaten two and a half lengths while Sir Barb was third to the turn and held on fairly well for (5.5 lengths) fourth. The only other runner in the small field, Captain Kirk, dropped out and finished (15 lengths) last. *ANZ
