Koroibete was slowly away and was second last in the nine-horse field early before improving along the inside to be seventh on the rails following a moderate pace (first 1000m 62.49). He got a run between runners at the turn and went nicely to third at the 300m, took the lead at the 100m and won nicely by half length. He is quite promising and looks suited to further. The favourite Amovatio ($3.75) raced in fifth place between runners before easing out and moving up three wide nearing the turn. He was under pressure from the 250m and kept making ground in the sprint home for a sound second. He too looks suited to further. First starter Pit boss raced in third place on the rails, got an inside run to challenge at the 300m and then fought on to hold the minor placing. Artistic Lass was last to the home turn and made up ground late for fourth. *ANZ
