Aussies Love Sport was smartly away then eased to race in second place following a fast pace. He moved up nicely on straightening, took the lead at the 300m then raced away to win impressively by just over two lengths. It was his first win in five starts and this stylish colt should continue to progress. Happy Clapper was back in third spot, went to second at the 200m and fought on nicely to hold that position to the post. He is lightly raced and shows promise. kirov was a distant sixth to the 600m mark, improved to fourth at the 200m and continued to make ground for a sound third. He looks suited to further. The favourite Champagne Cath was a distant fourth to the turn and was under pressure on straightening. She disappointed and just plugged to the line to finish sixth, beaten eight lengths. *ANZ
