Voilier looks a smart colt, winning in good style here on debut. He was quickly away and then eased to enjoyed a nice trip in third place, tracking the leading pair. He then travelled particularly well, moved up nearing the home turn, took the lead at the 300m, and despite racing a bit greenly, drew right away to win by three and a half lengths, putting up an impressive effort. Zoutenant began well and soon led. He was pressured a bit in front to the home turn and then held on quite well when challenged for a sound second on debut. Skyclad blundered at the start but recovered quickly and raced outside the leader most of the way to the home turn. He then held on quite well for third, also on debut. Ready Already raced back in fourth place, travelled a bit sluggishly in stages and dropped to last in the six-horse field at the turn. He then plugged on fairly well for fourth (beaten just under seven lengths) looking suited to longer distances. The fillies, Francais (fifth) and Invincible Dame (last), disappointed on debut and never threatened, perhaps resenting the Slow7 conditions.
