Matt Laurie-trained three-year-old gelding He’s The Boss put up a very promising effort in winning here on debut. He drifted back from his inside barrier (1) and settled in second last place in the 12-horse field. He got between runners on straightening going to eighth at the 200m and then came with a strong late run to grab a narrow but very good win. He is a horse to watch.
