Happy 21st Birthday Harry Mdn
The Lindsay Park-trained filly Vintage Quartz, after showing potential with placings at her first three starts, resumed to score a smart win here. She was third early on but gradually drove through from her good barrier (3) to take the lead nearing the 600m. She increased her advantage from the 200m and then went on to score quite impressively. Piccadillies, the half-sister to champion sire Fastnet Rock (Danehill) is still yet to win, now with three placing from four starts. She travelled in third place, but wide without cover, challenged (still wide) at the home turn and then and kept fighting well for a sound first up second.
