A small but interesting field of three-year-olds and the winner, Berry Delicious, looks a promising filly. She was ridden quietly and settled in last place in the six-horse field. She raced a bit keenly in stages, due to the moderate tempo, before making a quick run (wide) to challenge on straightening. She got to a narrow lead at the 200m and then drew clear to win comfortably by just over a length, putting up quite a smart effort. The Kris Lees-trained filly Savoureux, a winner of her only two previous starts, began quickly and went to the lead. She then slowed the pace, grabbed a break on turning for home but found the winner too good over the latter stages, holding on to finish second, while the Chris Waller-trained colt Electrifyin’ battled on to take third after racing outside the leader to the turn.
