Lightly raced Zabeel (Sir Tristram) filly Adrift looks to have a good future, following up a win over 1800m at Newcastle at her second start on 16 November to win again here in good style. She missed the start and settled well back in last place in the sixhorse field. She was urged to improve nearing the turn, put in a run in the centre of the track on straightening and finished too well to score with something in hand by a length. She is a very promising staying filly. Step Lightly was second last on the rails in the small field, got a split on turning for home to challenge at the 200m and then battled on quite well for second. The favourite Electrifyin’ raced outside the leader, was under pressure from the 600m, took a narrow lead at the 300m and then fought on fairly well for third, beaten two lengths. The second favourite Nazca had a good trip in fourth place, moved up well nearing the home turn but was suddenly under riding on straightening and then dropped out to finish last, looking tested by the 1600m trip.
