After showing promise with three placings from her first six starts, the Anthony and Edward Cummings-trained filly Memento broke through in good style for her first win here. Having her second run this preparation, after being third early on, soon improved to race outside the leader (Ikara Miss). She got the upper hand rounding the home turn, took the lead at the 200m and then went on to score comfortably. The Brad Widdup-trained filly Ridicule raced in third place, challenged at the 200m and then battled on nicely for second in a sound debut.
