Kasamatsu Race 7 #7 Suave Seals

An open race for our first bet at Kasamatsu but I think Suave Seals is the one that sets up best here. He was well beaten first up at Sapporo in a much stronger race before changing stables and running a bold race here, closing off strongly to just miss in second place. He rated nearly identically here to what he did at Sapporo and if he holds that form he's one of the horses to beat. He does have a peak rating at Chukyo before a spell that suggests he may even be able to go a bit better and if that's the case, he should be winning. #6 Viennoiserie is the main danger with a bulk of consistent ratings around the same mark but I just think Suave Seals might have a bit more to offer.

Kasamatsu Race 10 #5 Bilge Keel

Interesting contest here with Bilge Keel who is having his second start here after racing in the JRA where he was very much out of form. He ran well there despite being beaten, less than a length from the winner. The race rated very highly for that grade and even though this is a harder race on paper, he actually brings the best last start rating into this. A stakes winner at Hanshin as a three-year-old, he's shown plenty of talent, and last start suggested he might be getting back on track to show something like his best again. #1 Arion Dance is likely to start favourite given he's won four of his last five starts by big margins, but I think Bilge Keel is a good chance to knock him off.

Urawa Race 8 #5 Horoshiridake

Looks a race in two at Urawa and I think Horoshiridake is narrowly the horse to beat. He's racing in great form having won two of his last three and running second in between. I'm happy to forgive the miss given he got back in the field over 1500m and still ran on strongly to get within a length. He usually likes to race on the pace and was able to do that last time, winning by 3 lengths. If he's able to repeat that effort again I think he's got about a length on #12 Ring Boy who is a big danger and coming off a big 5 length win himself, however I think Horoshiridake has a more consistent bulk of ratings behind him.
