Early Mail For Hawkesbury on May 4

Early mail for the Hawkesbury feature meeting on Saturday May 4.

HAWKESBURY SATURDAY

RACE 2: (3) ZOUSTAR: Ran right up to impressive trials and looked well above average overcoming a slow start and awkward run to easily win midweek maiden at Canterbury on debut 17 days ago. Stable rates him highly and with Bowman going on should take another step towards the Brisbane carnival.

RACE 7: (10) BRAVE SOUL: Good filly takes on a strong field in the Hawkesbury Guineas and will be a big threat with her handy weight advantage over her male rivals. She's been out of luck through the autumn contesting some high class form races but has still done well to fill minor placings at her last three starts. Her only 1400m start produced a strong finishing placing in the Canberra Guineas in March and she looks certain to get her chance to figure prominently in this field from the rails draw.

RACE 8 (14) DECEIVER: Comes from astute Goulburn stable for his first start since a luckless fourth at Warwick Farm on February 23, having been scratched from recent engagements due to wet tracks. He's very good when fresh and that was evident when he produced an impressive sprint to win at Flemington in January off a two months break. This looks a very suitable race for him on a good track as he is well drawn and will be finding the line hard off what looks certain to be a hot pace.
