A day after news broke of Militarize's retirement, Newgate has revealed his introductory fee and that of another Group 1-winning three-year-old who will be joining him at the Hunter Valley stud.

Militarize, a son of Dundeel, will stand for $38,500, which is $5500 less than Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Ozzmosis.

The Bjorn Baker-trained colt was a fourth-generation winner of the Coolmore Stud Stakes, following his paternal line of Zoustar, Northern Meteor and Encosta De Lago, and Newgate Farm's Henry Field considered it appropriate his $44,000 introductory fee was the same as Zoustar's.

"Ozzmosis is one of the most important stallions we've ever retired to Newgate," Field said.

"A son of Australia's most commercial sire, Zoustar, with an almost identical body of work to his outstanding sire father.

"He'll stand for an identical fee as Zoustar did in his first season."

Zoustar last year stood for $220,000 with his 2024 fee yet to be announced by Widden Stud.

He, like Militarize, won a Golden Rose and Field expects that son of Dundeel and Dubawi mare Amerindia to be popular at $38,500 given he also won the ATC Sires' and Champagne Stakes at Group 1 level at two.

"To have a horse coming to our farm with the cred of Militarize…these horses you might get once every three years," he said.

"So, to have a horse like him coming onto the roster – a triple Group 1 winner, phenomenal pedigree, phenomenal looking – I think at $35,000 (plus GST) he is an absolute no-brainer, especially when you consider he is a pure outcross."

Militarize and Ozzmosis will joined by King's Gambit as new additions to the Newgate roster with the Group 2 winner and Golden Slipper placegetter, who is by I Am Invincible, to stand for $22,000.

The Newgate roster is again headed by Extreme Choice, who will over a limited book at $275,000.

Tassort is the only existing Newgate stallion who has earned an increase, up to $38,500 from $11,000, with $66,000 duo Capitalist and Russian Revolution and Stay Inside ($55,000) among those who have had fee reductions aimed at increasing the accessibility of Newgate stallions.
