Raider's Guide has taken all before him in Tasmania. A hulking 35 kilogram son of Zambora Brockie trained by one of Tasmania's best Gary Fahey. Friday night sees him chase the richest distance race in Australia. The Ladbrokes 715 worth $500,000 to the winner.

Raider's Guide made it five wins on end with a very impressive 41.52 for the 715 metre journey at The Gardens. The run was a mere 0.01 off the best of night run set by Valpolicella. It was Raider's Guide first attempt at running beyond 600 metres and he showed no sign of stopping when swinging for home.

Having won 8 of his last 9 starts it was time for Raider's Guide to leave the apple isle and prove his worth against the mainland dogs. However greyhound pundit's should not underestimate him. Raider's Guide has already proven himself at Group Level. Having won the Group One Rookie Rebel just three starts back at The Meadows.

On that occasion Raider's Guide took home a cool $75,000 to the winner and beat the likes of talented chasers Father Rick, Fast Minardi and recent Sandgroper winner Hector Fawley. From 53 lifetime starts he has won 27 races with a further 16 minor placings and has amassed a very respectable $260,000 in prizemoney. If Raider's Guide is to win Friday evening at The Gardens it will double his lifetime career prizemoney.

The box draw will be of no concern to the Tassie chaser as he has had 7 lifetime starts from box 8 for 5 wins and 2 seconds. That's a 71% win strike rate off that box and with his early pace he should be heading forward early on and giving them something to chase. It's expected that New South Wales chaser Ritza Piper will go forward early also.

Trainer Gary Fahey has spent an incredible 50 years in greyhound racing training out of Mangalore in the Southern Midlands in Tasmania. A sleepy little town with a population of only 400 poeple. Fahey is renowed in Tasmania and along with his brothers has won many a feature race in what has been a glittering training career.

The Ladbrokes 715 final commences at 9.50pm Eastern Standard time at The Gardens and the early favorite for the race sees bookmakers installing the Anthony Zammit trained Valpolicella at $2.30 just ahead of Raider's Guide.
