The Narrogin wrap for Saturday August 5

Three-year-old Allaglow brought up her first win this season, and her first with trainer Peter Anderson who took over the reins of this filly just two starts ago.

Previously trained by Merv Cox who got the daughter of locally stood stallion Fly Like An Eagle's first two career wins, she made the change in stables just weeks ago, and after a last start third at Gloucester Park back on July 24, she was able to lead all the way on Saturday at Narrogin for country driving specialist Trent Wheeler in 1:59:7 over the 2242m trip in race one.

The Barry Howlett bred, owned and trained Sugar Shake won on debut, with the four-year-old leading all the way from barrier one in the second on the card for reinsman Chris Lewis.  By champion stallion Bettors Delight, Sugar Shake qualified for racing just 11 days prior at Pinjarra, and starting as the $1.75 favourite, punters were confident the new starter could get the job done and in a winning mile rate of 2:03:5 over the 2242m, he was able to win comfortably by 5.4m on the line.

Our Lady Jen continued her good form with the three-year-old claiming race three for Jesse Moore and Stuart McDonald. Coming off a last start second at Narrogin the week prior, the $2 favourite settled behind the leader throughout after starting from inside the back line, and with the leader gone with 600m to go, she was forced off the rail, going on to win untouched by 12.4m in 2:00:6.

The fourth on the card went the way of William Gees Legacy NZ for Bob Mellsop and Chris Lewis, giving Lewis a driving double on the night.  The four-year-old brought up win number five from just 19 starts, breaking an eight-start losing sequence and giving the gelding his first win this season.  The win gave favourite punters another victory on the night after the $1.28 short-priced starter led all the way from barrier two.

Seven-year-old Sheza Bromac NZ gave trainer and driver Michael Munro the win in race five after a few changes for position throughout the 2242m journey at $7 odds.  Pressing forward after release point, the pair were taken on soon after for the lead by Burghley Shard NZ and Callan Suvaljko and after saying no, he later gave in to Chris Lewis on board Street Appeal NZ, but with around 400m to go he was forced to go wide, coming home to win with ease buy 6.2m in 2:01:6.

Gota Good Warhol added some value to the quaddie, with the four-year-old taking out race six on the card at $12 odds for trainer Hayden Reeves. Giving Stuart McDonald his second winner on the night, and after starting from barrier 10 over the 2242m trip, the pair settled in the one-out-three-back position, and with the front running solidly, Gota Good Warhol and McDonald were off with 400m to go to win by 5m in 2:02:5.

The two-year-olds rounded out the night at Narrogin, with the Team Bond runners Thenu Came Along and The Masked Crusader NZ getting the quinella in race seven. After leading all the way from barrier three, Thenu Came Along took top spot for Deni Roberts, with the Bond pair coming away from the rest of the field to record a winning mile rate of 2:02:3.
