Summit Bloodstock went to $70,000 to secure both the colt and the filly, with the pair to find their way into the stable of leading Victorian trainers Emma Stewart and Clayton Tonkin.

Jamie Durnberger-Smith said the Summit Bloodstock team were big fans of Always B Miki and was thrilled to be taking the pair home.

"Always B Miki is a great sire. He's got seven really, really good horses in America. We follow through their breeding and look to see if they match the same," Durnberger-Smith said.

"We really liked every single thing about them really. We just can't fault them so are unbelievably excited."

He described the colt by Mach Three mare Jovial Julie as "magnificent" on type.

"We came here wanting to get the best colt and he was by far and away the best colt so we are absolutely stoked. First foal and a colt so he just ticked every single box for us."

He said the Summit team was determined to take the filly out of Get In The Groove (Mach Three) home.

"She's from a great family. It's a family that we've never gotten into before.

"She was our pick of the fillies. No matter what we were going home with her."

Brittany Graham went to $65,000 on behalf of stable client Mick Boots to secure a filly by Captaintreacherous out of Summertime.

"We loved her. I'd seen the pedigree prior to coming here today and she was a beautiful type of filly as well, there wasn't much wrong with her," Graham said.

"She's by Captaintreacherous who is the 'it' sire at the moment so she's got everything going for her."

Queensland is the home of the famed QBRED incentive scheme.
