The two-year-olds hit the ground running on Wednesday January 3, with Reinette claiming the first of the juvenile races for the Nafranec family.
Reinette, a daughter of Vincent out of Aqueensomewhere was bred by Dennis and Dot Roche was presented as lot 77 and sold for $15,000.
The Nafranec family purchased lot 121 earlier in the sale, a filly by Sportswriter USA out of Maddyann Maree, who is now known as Titus, who was a last start runner up back on January 22.
Striking filly Ruby Lou (Sweet Lou USA x Betshes Precious) an $80,000 purchase from last years sale, bred by KTC Bloodstock and purchased by Jim and Willie Giumelli of Swandoo Harness Racing, won first up at Pinjarra back in January 29, with the short-priced favourite winning with ease.
The latest APG graduate winners were with two-year-old filly Delulu, who was presented as lot 152 (Poster Boy x Smart By Design NZ) for Karnup Racing and was purchased for $52,500 by Team Bond and The Running Camel Pty Ltd.
Tuesday night at Gloucester Park saw first starter Louie Vee (Stay Hungry x My West End Girl) claim honours in a slick 1:55:6 over the 1730m for trainer/driver Robbie Williams. Bred by Harry Capararo, the gelding went through the sales as lot 131, selling for $36,000 with sights now set towards the APG Sales Classic heats in a week.
All winners enjoyed a first starters bonus of $500, as well as a $3,000 first win bonus, and $3,400 westbred bonus on top of the $5,115 stake money for the race.
The heats of the 2024 APG Sales classic are fast approaching, with the two-year-olds set to battle on Tuesday February 20. The $125,000 finals for both the fillies and the colts and geldings will take place at Gloucester Park on February 1.
The $50,000 APG WA Fillies Sales Classic and $50,000 APG WA 3YO Colts and Geldings Sales Classic will be run on the same night.
Allwood Stud Farm are open by appointment leading into the Perth APG Yearling Sales on Sunday March 5, with Bob Fowler confirming that the stud will have 27 of their own progeny on offer, as well as a further three lots prepared for outside connections.

February 25 will see the APG Yearling Tour getting underway, with the first stop – Karnup Racing at 1.30pm, 843 Gull Rd, Serpentine.
Matt Young will be hosting at Karnup Racing, before heading onto Copper Lodge to showcase the yearlings Mike Howie has on offer at 3pm. 765 Karnup Rd, Hopeland.
The final stop of the yearling tour is with KTC Bloodstock who open their gates once again for their annual Yearling Parade ahead of the sales day.
