Ewa Justice, who won last weekend's Tasmania Cup with Modern Bliss, will partner Excell's nine-year-old Show Me The Moolah in the $10,000 feature.

"She has driven for me before, but she hasn't driven him (Show Me The Moolah) before. I am hoping he behaves himself," the McKenzie Creek trainer said.

"Ewa's dad (John) has driven for me and that's why I started to put her on my horses as well.

"She is learning from the best, isn't she?

"I am hoping he is going to go okay, but he does have to make up a lot of ground. He's got to make up 40m.

"It's a long way, it's a small track and it's going to be an extremely hot day."

Show Me The Moolah's last win came on December 29 last year at St Arnaud, but since then the gelding has only placed on one occasion in four meetings (finishing third at Boort on January 5).

The 2150m distance of the feature at Birchip should be to the liking of Show Me The Moolah.

"I put him in races of too longer distance and he can't do the distance. He struggles with the distance and that's why," she said.

"He is usually a rocket at the start, I just don't know how he will go. I always live in hope."

Show Me The Moolah and the Luke Bryant-trained Violetta Gift will both start off the 40m backmark, while Scott Torney's Tension Seeker is the sole runner off the front.

The pacing feature of the afternoon is the Sharp's Bakery Mallee Bull Birchip Pacing Cup.

The Scott Garraway-prepared Rio Rock will start from gate 10, with the only last-start winner in the field - Outback Queenie for Tim Mortlock - in five.

The seven-race card at Birchip has been brought forward due to the forecast temperatures in the region, with the first race set to go at 10.49am.
