Both races to be run at the Fair Grounds and the weather is supposed to cooperate. The Derby is Grade 2 and the morning line has the Quality Road colt Track Phantom on top on 3/1 for Steve Asmussen and Joel Rosario. Next comes Catching Freedom, by Constitution for Cox-Prat and we like one a bit wider in Tuscan Gold, by Medaglia d'Oro, who is with Chad Brown and Tyler Gaffalione has the ride.
The Oaks has 8 starters and the winner here gets 100 points towards the Kentucky Oaks. The field may be small but it is competitive with Tarifa, by Bernardini, on 8/5 for Cox-Prat, Intricate by Gun Runner on 2/1 and Our Pretty Woman by Medaglia d'Oro on 4/1 for Asmussen-Rosario.
Aqueduct's Saturday card has been moved to Sunday as they are expecting bad weather. At Fair Grounds it seems much better although possibly a bit on the cool side.
