From Marco Botti's yard and starting at 14/1 Giavelotto survived a stewards enquiry at the end of the race although jockey Andrea Atzeni didn't.

Second home was Eldar Eldarov and third joint-favourite Broome.  Giavellotto shifted left in the last 100m which caused some interference to Eldar Eldarov and definitely hampered Broome and this was the subject of the lengthy enquiry but in the end the stewards let the result stand.

While the Ascot Gold Cup is usually the next race for these stayers, and Eldar Eldarov's connection say he will go there, Giavellotto will not and Botti says that they have the Melbourne Cup in mind as the horse definitely stays 2 miles and likes firm ground.
