Surprise win in the 2000gns trial

The Hochi Hai Yayoi Sho Deep Impact Kinen, which is seen as the 2000 Guineas trial, was won by Cosmo Kuranda 34/1.

Ridden by Mirco Demuro the Al Ain colt is out of an Aussie mum – Southern Speed.  Shin Emperor was second and Sirius Colt third.

Favourites Trovatore and Danon Ayers Rock failed to shine but at least there was a bit of Aussie in the winner.

Saturday's Tulip Sho, the 1000 Guineas Trial, saw Yutaka Take on Sweep Feet, a daughter of Suave Richard, add to his collection of group wins.  Sokitoba East, by Declaration of War was second and Hawaiian Tiara, by Lord Kanaloa, third.
