The race was won by Mad Cool  who had run second in last year's Sprinters.

The ground was yielding which didn't suit a lot of the runners.

Mad Cool clung to the rails and the grey repelled the challenge of Namura Clair successfully and Victor the Winner kept on bravely for third although he didn't have much left when it came to the uphill finish.

On Saturday at Nakayama the Nikko Sho went to Struvel with Chrominance our roughie second.  Boccherini may not have liked to going or the drizzle the race was run in and was 5th although there wasn't a huge distance between the top 5, all of whom had started in single figures.
