Some inclement weather around the greater Sydney metropolitan region has seen the track rated in the Soft (6) range at publish, while the rail will be left in the true position for the meeting.

Check out my full Randwick preview and tips below.

RACE 1 - 12:45PM: The Passchendaele Plate (1100m)

Open race with a case to be made for a few of them, including Call Me Gorgeous.

Call Me Gorgeous has made just one competitive appearance at the races so far, working home well for second behind Ballet D'esprit here back in January.

He's turned in two nice trial performances in the lead-up to Thursday's return.

RACE 2 - 1:20PM: The Home Front Handicap (1400m)

I'm keen to stick with the second-up Until Valhalla when she steps out at Randwick-Kensington on ANZAC Day.

Until Valhalla turned in some nice performances during her debut campaign, breaking her maiden at this track and trip most notably, while he worked home well into fourth behind the likes of Kandinsky Abstract when resuming earlier this month.

With natural improvement and with options from the rails draw, she can continue her rise through the grades.

RACE 3 - 1:55PM: Armistice Handicap (2400m)

Casual Connection has improved for each of three runs back this time and is ready to win at Randwick-Kensington on Thursday.

The Complacent gelding clearly needed his first run back this time to tune up, but he has since finished fourth, beaten less than a length in BM78 company, before only just missing again in a photo at Canterbury.

Getting out to a mile and a half this week looks to suit and the booking of James McDonald further boosts his chances.

RACE 4 - 2:30PM: Battle Of Amiens Handicap (1400m)

Defining is third-up and well placed to strike again.

The Annabel Neasham-trained mare returned a winner in BM72 company at Warwick Farm last month, and she was last seen finishing third, beaten just over half a length in a similar race.

Fitter third-up and from a plum draw, I can't find a reason why she won't be in the finish.

3 Units Defining

RACE 5 - 3:05PM: Kokoda Trail Handicap (1550m)

The consistent Princess Rayaa steps out this week second-up and primed to strike.

Princess Rayaa was a strong and consistent performer last time in, breaking her maiden over a mile most notably and ending her prep an agonizingly close second behind City Of Lights in a race not dissimilar to this one.

She was eye-catching behind Desiah at Warwick Farm first-up this month and is open to plenty of improvement on Thursday.

RACE 6 - 3:40PM: The Australian Imperial Force Handicap (1000m)

Heuristic makes his eagerly awaited return to the races in a very winnable one at Randwick-Kensington on Thursday.

The Street Boss gelding didn't miss placing last time in and ended his prep with a deserved win in Group 3 company down at Morphettville.

It has been almost a year since we've seen him competitively, but he's had the benefit of a couple of trials leading up to this return and it looks a lovely launchpad for him.

RACE 7 - 4:15PM: Anzac Day Cup (1800m)

City Of Lights has returned to the races in typically sharp form this time and strikes another winnable race on Anzac Day.

The well-bred mare returned an easy winner in BM72 company at Canterbury back in February, and while she did finish down the order in the Group 3 Aspiration Quality second-up from a spell, she bounce back with another sharp win at this track and distance, last time out.

I like that she has been kept up to the mark with a trial since that race and I can't find a reason why she won't be in the finish again.

BET NOW: Kensington Race 7

RACE 8 - 4:50PM: Beersheba Handicap (1550m)

Kadavar drops back in class into a far more appropriate race at Randwick-Kensington.

Kadavar stamped himself as one to watch by winning each of his first two career starts up in Queensland, but he was well beaten by the likes of Panic in the Listed South Pacific Classic on Day 1 of The Championships.

I'm confident he'll improve for that effort and with even luck, he can fight out the finish.
