Trainer's confident mounts after rawiller booking in Randwick TAB Highway

Clint Lundholm, with value stablemates Amulet Street ($7.50 on TAB) and Hit the Rim ($34) in Saturday’s Royal Randwick TAB Highway, is convinced he’s on the same planning path as most opposition in an episode as hot as the weather.

"All trainers are setting their best for the Country Championships, this is the starting point, mine anyway," offered the prolific young Dubbo trainer.

The lucrative Newhaven Park series is just weeks away for the finest in regional racing.

The reason why Amulet Street, a super third to talented Another One in last season's Final at headquarters, has 62kg topweight resuming for Nash Rawiller in the $120,000 Class 3, 1200m.

Open company stablemate, also resuming Hit The Rim, has 59.5kg for stable rider Jake Pracey-Holmes.

"We'd intended to claim with Amulet Street expecting around that weight but we couldn't get the apprentice we wanted.

"So went back to the owners and decided on a top senior.

"Drawn wide no favours but he's got decent fresh form, he'll be competitive knowing he'll improve plenty on whatever he does.

"He's got the frame to carry weight, used to it and we've got the right rider aboard there.

"Hit the Rim developed nicely into an open company bush horse last prep and from that draw he'll put himself into the race."

Amulet Street has drawn barrier 13 before the invariable scratchings and Hit the Rim the coveted barrier one.

They have won six races between them and another win makes them ineligible for another Highway leading into the Country Championships.

Amulet Street hasn't raced since May when his form was super culminating in his third in the feature Final to Another One. He's been runner-up twice when fresh.

Hit The Rim is resuming since August when his form was solid.

In a wide open episode, the regular series winning combination of Scone's Cameron Crockett and champion James McDonald with Super Extreme is the $5.50 favourite in a particularly wide betting race.

They sit ahead of Iron Will ($6) and highly promising Riverina sprinter Supido Beauty ($7.50) who has been scratched twice from Highways because of wide barriers.

At present headquarters is a Good 4 in fine weather.
