It has been a disappointing campaign for both teams, who will have set their sights on at least playing finals at the end of the season.

However, after more downs than ups, they have missed out on the top six and can soon start planning for next season.

Brisbane and Adelaide head into Friday night's game without a win in the last two matches, drawing one and losing one, which sums up their season.

They will want to end on a high however, so there is still plenty to play for.

Goals an issue for Roar

Brisbane Roar saw any slim hopes they had of making the top six come to an end over the last two games.

They needed to finish strongly to have a chance, but slipped to a 2-0 home defeat against Newcastle Jets, before drawing 0-0 with Melbourne Victory.

Roar failed to score in both of those games, and hitting the back of the net has been an issue for them this season.

They have done it just 39 times this season, with only Newcastle Jets and Western United scoring less.

Roar have also conceded 51 goals, almost two a game, so it is a surprise to see them sitting as high as eighth spot on the ladder.

However it did all come together for them when the two sides met at Coopers Stadium back in December, with Roar winning 2-0.

Jay O'Shea was on the scoresheet that day and can be backed at 3.20 to grab another and score at anytime.

The last time the two sides met at Suncorp Stadium was back in December 2022, when they fought out a 1-1 draw.

Another close game looks to be on the cards and the same 1-1 scoreline is priced at 9.00.

Reds refreshed and ready

Adelaide United just had the weekend off after their game against Central Coast Mariners was postponed.

It means they have two games remaining, but the top six is still out of reach for them.

Ninth spot on the ladder represents a massive fall from grace for them after they finished the 2022/23 season in third.

Scoring goals has not been an issue when firing home 48, but they have also conceded 48, which has been a problem.

Nestory Irankunda has been one of the highlights of a disappointing campaign, but his time at the club will soon be over after penning a deal with Bayern Munich.

The young striker will be aiming to go out on a high and can be backed at 7.50 to score the first goal of the game, or 2.75 to score at anytime.

Elsewhere, over 2.5 goals in the game can be backed at 1.33, while under is available at 3.40.
