Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Flemington, the Sunshine Coast, Devonport, Halidon, Armidale, Nowra and Kalgoorlie.

ARMIDALE: RACE 1 @ 1:25PM:

MR SEVERINO (2) was awkwardly away last time out at Tamworth but still ran on well to miss out by just 1.6L. Up in trip suits, and he drops 2.5kg on his latest effort. He goes well third-up and looks very hard to beat. CALGARY KING (1) is better than he showed last start when dropping back in trip, with rising back to 1400m right up his alley. Drawn well today and can turn in a bold effort. THUNDER FOX (3) won impressively at Tamworth and backed it up with a solid win in lesser grade last start. Harder today but can run a big race and is worth including. RAZZLE DAZZLE (5) looks best of the rest.

SELECTIONS: Mr Severino can get the job done.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 1 @ 1:30PM:

PORT PHILIP (11) is lightly raced and progressing through his grades nicely. He's been an easy winner of his past two starts and this trip and possibly further shouldn't be a problem. He has an awkward gate to negotiate but Jamie Mott knows him well and he may have more upside than his rivals here. ANGELIC SCENT (12) made up good ground last start when chasing home Port Phillip to make it three second placings on end. She looks as though she'll handle the trip and should be thereabouts again. TOKEN SPIRIT (7) gets to the right race having won the Mahogany Challenge over the course and distance range as a 3YO. He looks value each way. HEIR TO THE THRONE (5) will stay until last drinks and is searching for the hat-trick. Keep safe.

SELECTIONS: Port Philip can make it three on end.

NOWRA: RACE 2 @ 2:25PM:

MY ROCK SINGA (7) peaks and didn't have the best of it at Canberra the latest. Was close up the two prior and the speedy galloper can break through. BEOGRAD BOY (3) wasn't beaten far at Moruya running his best race. Day sticks and he's a player on the 6-day return. BILLIE FRENADO (4) finds a good race to work her way into the placings at each-way odds.

SELECTIONS: Backing My Rock Singa.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 5 @ 3:20PM: A good race. HUSSON'S REVENGE (2) is in the hot Brice barn and didn't miss a beat leading and winning the Ipswich 58 first-up. Had come off a trial win here on the inner track. Uses the rail and Thompson stays aboard. Has more to give and can deliver again. LADY RAIN (12) was heavily-bet winning the Maiden at Ipswich and then placed there in a CL2 against her own sex. In good hands a Loy stays aboard. A danger. CALM SEEKER (15) resumes and is good enough. Will race over further but has won 2/3 fresh and at her only go this distance. Keep onside. BETTER LAD (19) hasn't won for a while buy draws to advantage and his form this campaign indicates he's a chance.

SELECTIONS: Backing Husson's Revenge.

KALGOORLIE: RACE 6 @ 3:50PM: TALK IT UP (5) is only lightly-raced and building a good record. Came across from the wide gate and just failed when 2nd under 58.5kg over 1100m at this track on August 21. Races best here and likes his runs spaced. One of the leading prospects. BIN SHALAA (10) is racing in the best form of her career and chasing her third straight win here after scoring a narrow win last time over 1200m at this track on September 4. Drops in weight for this and gets all the favours from the draw. PROTECTED ACTION (1) has only had the one blimp in his last five starts and holding his form well. Anchored under 62.5kg last start when 3rd over 1100m here on August 21. Freshened-up for this and has the wide gate to contend with. BOLSHOI GAL (9) ran a much better race last start when shot across from the wide draw to lead, before going under narrowly when second over 1200m at this track on September 4. A repeat effort puts her in the finish.

SELECTIONS: Talk It Up to win.

HALIDON: RACE 7 @ 4:10PM:

KALAMON (4) has been in the money at his last couple of runs, the latest when third over 1600m at Morphettville. Backmarker who keeps coming. One of the leading chances. EXALTED RUTH (2) had been threatening before breaking through for a deserved win last time over 1950m at Morphettville Parks, scoring by a nose. Sophie Logan who has scored on her five times retains the mount. Expecting a bold showing. LOMAX (3) finished 6 lengths adrift in seventh last time at Morphettville in a disappointing performance. Faces a far less daunting assignment this time. Has winning claims. ARMAMENT (8) scored an impressive 3 lengths win when resuming over 1600m at Murray Bridge. Will be better for the run and is worth including again.

SELECTIONS: Kalamon to win.
