bet365 Say From SA: Morphettville Parks – Saturday, 20th of April 2024

Freshen up key to get the best out of Meg at Morphettville Parks on Saturday.

Struggling to threaten in her last two runs when tackling stronger company, Rockstar Meggsy looks perfectly place to find her way back into the winner's circle on Saturday off the back of a short freshen.

Kicking off the campaign in terrific fashion, the Jon O'Connor-trained mare will relish the drop in grade as she steps back to a winning trip after having 42 days between runs.

A dominant winner in tougher grades second and third-up, the daughter of Star Witness is aided under the big weight with the 2kg claimer piloting.

A ratings rock for handicappers, Meg has run to 85 on the Racing and Sports scale in three of her four starts this campaign – that rating at least 10 pounds superior to any of her rivals. She doesn't necessarily have to be at her best come Saturday but if she is, she should have them covered.

Another one I'm keen on comes a few races later in the Listed 3YO H C Nitschke Stakes, where the Nick Ryan-trained Material Dreams looks very well placed as well.

The Lean Mean Machine filly possesses a devastating turn of foot, as seen last start when rattling home to finish fourth at Caulfield, after settling 10/13. Finishing 2.3L behind Miss Aria, who got home nicely to finish a narrow third herself, Material Dreams now meets her rival 3kgs the better and is drawn much more favourably. If Jacob Opperman can settle in front of Miss Aria, I don't see her being able to chase our runner down.
