The Mansman looks set to finally get off the mark at Morphettville on Saturday.

While The Mansman is yet to hit the winner's board, he has been a staple of consistency for Phillip Stokes, and with that shoulders a depth of ratings that has him ready to break through.

While admittedly it is rare to see a horse break their maiden in a BM72, since resuming this campaign, the three-year-old Almanzor colt and this week's bet365 best bet is yet to drop below a Racing and Sports rating of 80 – running level to his peak (83) on four occasions.

While his main market danger Warlords does rate better than him (86), after scoring last start in CL1 company, the set up looks a major concern – kept 45-days between runs and steps out to 200m. Highly doubt he will be able to produce the same, or better that rating, which I'm expecting he will need to do to deny The Mansman his maiden success.

For our value play we head to the Matrice Stakes, where again we find a Stokes runner in Climbing Star, who like his stablemate mentioned above has proven to be a bit of a non-winner.

Arguably shouldering the best form-lines, this four-year-old mare usually goes well fresh and should be forward enough following two solid jump outs. Stepping out over a preferred trip and with a handful of ratings above 100, if Lachlan Neindorf can find cover from the tricky gate and not spend too many pennies in running, I'm confident she can be fighting out the finish.
