Plenty of NAR racing on Tuesday with meetings from Ohi, Sonoda, Kochi, Mizusawa and Kanazawa. We've done the form and picked out the best bets for the day.
Ohi (Tokyo City Keiba) Race 2- #14 Brave Crown
Keen to be with this colt resuming having run a good race for second on debut in a newcomer at this track over 1600m, settling fifth in the field of seven and finding the line well. He posted a solid rating there and has plenty of upside compared to a lot of this field and given he went off at $4.80 on debut, we should get a good price. #2 Fukufukutenten has run twice, placed twice and started odds-on twice so expect he's kept quite short again, which means I'd much rather be with Brave Crown who has shown much more talent.
Kochi Race 7- #9 Trust Me
Interesting race here and I think we can make some money out of Trust Me who ran a very good race last start at this track and trip for third on muddy ground. His form prior was just fair but that was clearly the best last start rating coming into this so if he's any chance of reproducing it he has to be a big chance. Definitely look to back him each-way up against some smart ones, including #6 Hekiku and #7 Gunslinger, both of whom started very short last start and had won prior in fine style.
Mizusawa Race 12- #1 Z Central
Some handy NAR types going around in this and the resuming Z Central is certainly one of them. The seven-year-old was remarkably consistent at a good level last time in, running within a length of his best half a dozen times, the only real failures coming in a strong race at Morioka and the listed Mile Championshio won by Cafe Pharaoh. He should get a good run just behind the pace and if he runs to his best, as he often does, he'll take beating. The main danger is #7 Southern Ginger who is up and running, coming off a good win last start, his first run for a new stable, but he can be a bit inconsistent.
Sonoda Race 8- #2 Namura Haka
Not a strong card at Sonoda and I think Namura Haka just has to hold his form to be the horse to beat again here. He's won two of his past four, both at Himeji, but is certainly no stranger to Sonoda having won here multiple times. The step up to 1700m is also ideal, with his best figures coming over further than the 1400m he's been racing over at Himeji, and with plenty of early pace in the small field he should prove hard to catch. #6 A Shin Scipio started $3.10 last time out but struggled when finishing sixth. He'd need to run to his absolute best to beat Namura Haka and off his first up run I don't think he will.
