Plenty of racing around Japan on Tuesday with five meetings taking place. We've got racing from Ohi, Nagoya, Sonoda, Mizusawa and Kasamatsu and have picked out our best bets across the day.

Nagoya Race 9 #4 Link Starts

I'd be surprised if this three-year-old colt wasn't starting odds on because he just looks to have a significant class edge on his rivals in this race. He ran well last start despite running second here over 1700m, starting $5.10 there with strong gaps through the field. His ratings over his past few runs stand out here and he does it on a fairly consistent basis. Back to 1500m is no issue given he's won at 1400m and 1600m and all things equal he should just be winning.

Ohi (Tokyo City Keiba) Race 11 #1 Star Shooter

The feature race on the card at Ohi and it does look a race in two between Star Shooter and #10 Crusades Spirits, both of whom are very handy horses on their day. Star Shooter rates narrowly ahead and has the benefit of barrier one here so I'm happy to side with him coming off back-to-back wins at this track and distance. He does like to roll out and lead and with the benefit of the inside draw I'm expecting him to prove too tough to catch from the front.

Kanazawa Race 1 #3 Don't Cry Baby

Looking to strike early at Kanazawa with Don't Cry Baby, who rated down a touch last start on wet ground when beaten 4.5 lengths into third. His run the start prior was good, finishing just 1.5 lengths off the winner in second and a return to that level would go very close here. He's no star by any means but this is a very weak field for the three-year-old maidens and if he runs up to his effort two back he should go close. #9 Bellwood Sky looks a key danger having run a solid race last time out, as does #5 Nac Factor who was beaten as a $1.40 chance last start.

Mizusawa Race 3 #7 Suave Caesar

Again, not an overly strong race here and Suave Caesar is running ratings that should see him very hard to beat here. Like Don't Cry Baby, he's a son of Heart's Cry who certainly hasn't lived up to his sire's legacy but does look well placed here having run a much better race last time out when third, beaten 2.25 lengths. That was his best run for new trainer Shinichi Hatakeyama in four starts and signals he's ready to notch up his second career win. The five-year-old won't get many better chances than this and goes on top from #4 Yagiri Odin and #3 Spiral Rise.
