Morphettville Races Review on 20th May 2023

A last-minute riding change from Ben Price to Madison Lloyd paid off when Silent Surrente took out the 2028 metre opening event at Morphettville on Saturday.

Making it two wins in a row the Will Clarken and Nikki O'Shea prepared Silent Surrente  led all the way.

Apprentice Madison Lloyd made it successive wins when her mount Aston Rapova won the 1050 metre second race.

Having his second run after a spell the Wayne Francis and Glen Kent prepared Aston Rapova was well placed and took the event with a last stride win.

Heuristic lived up to its previous runs at Morphettville when he took out the Group 3 David Coles AM tw

o-year-old Stakes which was run over 1200 metres.

Being under the care of James Cummings at Flemington and having the services of Ben Melham Heuristic was in a good position throughout the event.

 A good battle to the winning post between Letsbefrakbaby and Moya Lass saw the Jamie Mott ridden Letsbefrankbaby win the Ken and Helen Smith SA fillies Classic which was run over 2500 metres.

Coming out of the Cranbourne stable of Robbie Griffiths and Matt De Kock Letsbefrankbaby came from a midfield position to meet with success.

Foxy Freda continued her good form when she took out the Group 3 R A Lee Stakes of 1600 metres.

Coming out of the Andrew Noblett stable at Ballarat the Billie Egan ridden Foxy Freda came from a midfield position with a strong-rails run to win.

Ben Melham brought up his second winner for the afternoon when Thought Provoking took out the listed Centaurea Stakes of 2028 metres.

Trained at Cranbourne by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr Thought Provoking led all the way.

 Michael Dee continued his good run when he rode Snapped to victory in the Group 3 Proud Miss Stakes of 1200 metres.

Trained at Mornington by Anthony and Sam Freedman Snapped came from well back with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The training duo of Cairon Maher and David Eustace finished the Adelaide carnival in fine style when Royal Merchant took out the 1200 metre Group 1 Goodwood Handicap of 1200 metres.

Giving jockey Michael Dee a race to race double Royal Marchant came from a better than midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The leading metropolitan stable of Richard and Chantelle Jolly finished the Adelaide carnival off with a win when Jack's On Ice won the 1200 metre final event.

Having the services of Jake Toeroek Jack's On Ice maintained a good position throughout the event
