Morphettville Races Review on 6th May 2023

The stable of Will Clarken and Niki O’Shea were the first to greet the winner’s enclosure when Silent Surrente took out the 2014 metre opening event at Morphettville on Saturday.

Ridden by apprentice Ben Price Silent Surrente showed his rivals a clean pair of heels when she led all the way.

Ben and JD Hayes kept their winning strike rate going when Conqueror took out the 1600 metre second race.

Bringing up successive wins the Michael Dee ridden Conqueror came from well back with a strong run in the latter stages of the event.

Apprentice Sheriden Tomlinson continued his good run when he rode Celsius Star to his third successive win in the 1050 metre third race.

Prepared at the Morphettville stable of Phillip Stokes Celsius star settled well before going on to bring up his third win from four starts.

Savatoxl brought up successive wins when he took out the D C McKay Stakes of 1100 metres.

Having the services of Caitlin Jones the Will Savage trained speedster Savatoxl led all the way to bring up his ninth win from thirty-nine starts.

Michael Dee landed the second leg of a double when the two-year-old filly took out the listed Without Fear Stakes which was run over 1050 metres.

Prepared at Mornington by Matt Laurie and bringing her second win chilled was well placed.

The three-year-old filly Caste made it two wins in a row when she gave Michael Dee his third winner for the day in the 1600 metre Group 2 Queen of the South Stakes.

Providing Ben and JD Hayes with their second win for the day Caste came from well back with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The training duo of Cairon Maher and David Eustace continued their Group  success when Ruthless Dame took out the 1200 metre Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes.

Continuing the good run of John Allen who was seen running laps of the Morphettville inner track earlier in the day so as to make the weight of 55kg, Ruthless Dame was seen running on strongly from a midfield position to take the event.

Michael Dee rounded off a good day for himself when he guided three-year-old Royal Merchant to a win in the in the Group 2 Tobin Bronze Stakes 0f 1200 metres

Presenting Cairon Maher and David Eustace with their third winner for the day Royal Merchant was predominant throughout the event.

The Will Clarken/Niki O'Shea stable were well pleased with the win of Toast the Deel in the 1200 metre final event.

Guided to victory by Todd Pannell Toast the Deel came from well back to gain the upper hand in the shadows of the post.
