Patsy prognosticates on pommy plodders

infidel
These are the Euros Gai Waterhouse has bought to try and win this years Melbourne Cup:

Galiando
Julienas
Monopolize
Glencadam Gold

Got an opinion of any of them?

You can buy a lot of Euro horse these days with our mighty pacific peso converted into pitiful pommy pounds.

I agree with Patsy on this one, no Melbourne Cup hopes in that lot.

One of them is by Oasis Dream, a sprinter of great quality, another by a G1 miler in Refuse To Bend.

At least Galiando is a lightly raced son of Galileo, but he has yet to race beyond 2000m.

If Gai has someone on the lookout for a Melbourne Cup hope, they certainly looked in the wrong direction IMO.

Melbourne Cup horses???!!!

If she's buying horses of this calibre with the wonderful aussie dollar and expecting success with them then your racing is in far worse shape than I thought or the pommie owners are rubbing their hands with glee.

1.Galiando's a 1600/2000m horse who has won a maiden and a low grade handicap..shows a glimpse of promise as a 3 year old..might progress might not..
Was tailed of lame and injured on his final start in the UK

2.Julienas is a miler who won a decent handicap at Royal Ascot.
Was tailed off at G3 level over 2000m when 10th of 10 on his final start in the UK.Any handicap winner at Royal Ascot has to be respected but in a King George he'd be 5000-1

3.Monopolize has had 7 starts and is still a maiden.

4.Glencadam Gold won a handicap at Newmarket after his maiden win over 2400m.
Then stepped up in class and was beaten 52 lengths by Nathaniel.
Stepped down in grade and was then beaten by 19 lengths and 10 lengths on his final 2 starts in the UK.
