Stats Records Odds Summary

jesaulenko

Hello R&S Team;

The stats records provided on the site for horses, jockeys, trainers etc... includes the odds summary for each start. I would like to know which price is used to define the runner's odds for each start (i.e - SP ; TAB ; UniTab ; Betfair) etc...

Odds Summary
< 1/1 (< $2)
1/1 - 5/1 ($2.00 - $6.00)
5.1/1 - 10/1 ($6.10 - $11.00)
11/1 - 25/1 ($11.10 - $26.00)
26/1 - 50/1 ($26.10 - $51.00)
> 50/1 (> $51.10)
Can anyone enlighten me as to where photo finishes are published, made available or can be viewed online ?

A second British racecourse was left teetering on the edge of extinction as Folkestone hosted its last fixture for the foreseeable future on Tuesday.

Just two days earlier, Hereford shut for business with owner Arena Racing Company (ARC) believing the 17 years remaining on the lease from the local council did not justify the venue being kept open.

Folkestone, another ARC course, is not said to be financially viable either but some faint hope remains that closing could only be a temporary measure.

The county of Kent now no longer has a racecourse following the closure of Wye in 1974 with Folkestone having staged meetings since 1898.

ARC claimed operations could continue if more than 800 homes were built on the site, with the funds being directed to update facilities and move the actual position of the course itself.

A proposal was submitted to the local council for the building but it was left out of their core strategy that will be passed on to the Secretary of State's inspectorate.

The council still say they are open to future discussions in order for the racecourse to remain open.

"Arena made clear in 2007 that the racecourse was not viable in its present state and we made a proposal for the redevelopment to the council, but the inspector didn't like it," ARC chairman Michael Howard said.

"If we can get some words in the core strategy proposal, which will be finalised when the inspector makes a decision in the next few months, then we could be in business.

"This means we can start talking to the council again, so we can keep the door open.

"Newbury proposed a redevelopment in order to make themselves financially viable, and that's what we hope to do.

"It would be very sad if it doesn't happen."

Scratch Southern Speed

jesaulenko

Sunday, 28 October 2012:

Nash Rawiller will partner Southern Speed in the Melbourne Cup as the pair try to turn their spring carnival fortunes around.

Glen Boss sacked the mare after her sub-par performance in the Turnbull Stakes and Rawiller chased the ride on Southern Speed for her Caulfield Cup defence only to miss out when she was withdrawn on race eve due to her wide barrier.

She instead went to Saturday's Cox Plate in which she was an eye-catching sixth with Luke Nolen aboard, again from a wide draw.

That run convinced trainer Leon Macdonald she would be a worthy Melbourne Cup contender and the decision was made to give her a chance.

"Last week I was against running her in the Melbourne Cup but the way she finished the race off yesterday has changed my mind," Macdonald said.

"She seems to be racing a bit dour and her final sectionals were very impressive.

"Nash will ride her in the Cup."

Rawiller's Cox Plate was a disaster with any plan Gai Waterhouse had when she selected barrier 11 for More Joyous out the window before the first turn.

With first Happy Trails and then surprise packet Ethiopia kicking up to take the lead, More Joyous was six-wide with nowhere to go and eventually weakened to finish 11th of the 14 runners.

Southern Speed came from last on the home turn to run the fastest final sectional times of the race.

Australian Derby winner Ethiopia held on for fourth in the Cox Plate after Rhys McLeod's daring tactics and like Southern Speed, will be paid up at Monday's next acceptance stage for the Cup.

Although her best performances have been at middle distances and the 2400 metres of last year's Caulfield Cup, Southern Speed has breeding on her side when it comes to stamina.

Her mother Golden Eagle is by Zabeel, the sire of two Melbourne Cup winners and last season's champion broodmare sire of Australasia.

Zabeel's presence will be felt against the dominance of European bred stock in the Cup with his sons Maluckyday and Zabeelionaire looking to join Might And Power (1997) and Jezabeel (1998) as winners of the race.

Once again the best betting proposition outside of the golf on a weekly basis is nearly upon us...
Watson jnr will need to be at least 7 votes clear after round 18 otherwise Ablett will get him in the run home. By my calculations it will go down to the wire with Ablett needing 3 in the last round to tie it up...unfortunately for him it will not be forthcoming.

Race Results Search

jesaulenko

Hello R&S Team;

It would be great to have the functionality in the Race Results section to be able to search by Course thereby having a list of the all the results from a requested racetrack.
i.e - search results 'Ipswich'

Is this possible ?

Perhaps you already provide this and I am missing it but it appears the only search option for race results is by date only ?

Thanks.
