TONY VASIL

jmonasso

Surely Tony must be considered this countries finest trainer. His achievments this year have been outstanding.

Not only has he trained group 1 performed stayers in Elvstroem and Zazzman but has also had group 1 success with spinters (Super Elegant.)

Keep in mind he has also unvieled some classy types of the future with Creative Plan and Hveger.

And its not just this year, since moving to Aquanita he has been incredibly consistent.

Definately has the runs on the board to be considered with Lee Freedman as Australia's best trainer.

Elvstroem-Melbourne Cup

Looks as though Elvis will bypass the McKinnon this weekend and opt for the big one.

Connections were thrilled with his run in the Cox Plate, after falling behind at the start he was never a chance but was one of the more eye catching runs coming home.

I don't think he'll win the cup, but it certainly makes it a tad more interesting. Adds a touch of class. It'll be interesting to see how he goes.

Dilly Dally

Does anyone know if DILLY DALLY is still in work? Hasn't raced for while. Would expect to run in the Salinger.

Starcraft - Yalumba?

jmonasso

Noticed Starcraft is nominated for the Yalumba this weekend. I was under the impression he wouldn't run in Australia until the Cox Plate. Can anyone shed any light for me? Cheers
Just after some thoughts from anyone regarding the sale of horses such as Exceed & Excel and Reset to stud. Is it becoming a problem for the Australian industry or just the fans?
Will it effect the racing industry?
Should or are we able to curb the sale and retirement of our most exciting horses at such young ages?

Is it simply an issue of frustrated racing fans mssing out on seeing great horses or is there more to it.

(Sorry to be so inquisitive but as a race fan it annoys me to see these horses retired so early - but as a journalist - i'm wondering about the broader issues - if any?)

Thanks for your help. Cheers

The Doncaster

Does anyone know the current order of entry, or more specifically, whether or not Confectioner is likely to get a run in the Doncaster?

Cheers
