In the words of John Worsforld:

"Harden up princess"

We see poor rides in every race, cop it on the chin and move on.
Just read the below story on the Herald Sun website.

If the 3rd paragraph is true it is an absolute disgrace.

First players can't question a free kick, then coaches/officials can't comment on umpiring and now we have the ludicrous situation where a commentator has been run out of his job for expressing his views (which the majority of AFL fans agree with).

----------------------------------------------

EXCLUSIVE: FORMER St Kilda coach and now commentator, Grant Thomas, has been sensationally sacked by radio station SEN.

Thomas was told late this afternoon by station boss, Barry Quick, that his contract had been terminated because of financial reasons.

It's believed, however, Thomas' constant ridiculing of umpires and the AFL was a concern to league officials and had officials had voiced those concerns to SEN powerbrokers.

SEN is currently in talks with the AFL about their next media deal, which centres around the radio station calling games of football.

Thomas, who is special comments person on match-day and central to the station's preview program on Saturday morning, could not be immediately contacted.

AFL Umpiring

jonesy09

Another round ruined by over umpiring. I've been a full (gold) AFL member for the past 16 years but I'm afraid that's just about it.

Will put my money towards a Storm or Victory membership from now on. Hopefully a few hundred thousand more decide to do likewise and then Demetriou and his puppets might act.
Anyone else amazed by the weights for Sundays Goodwood?

Falkirk is only giving Stratton Place 1kg yet take this into consideration.

Falkirk has started in 16 Listed class or better races for a record of 1 x LR win, 2 x G3 wins, 2 x G2 wins and a handful of minor placings.

SP has only ever contested 3 Listed races in his career for one 3rd placing to Murray Downs.

PLEASE EXPLAIN?!?!

Is it just me or is this the worst leader bias track for a big meeting in history?

Can anyone tell me why on earth they have allowed this horse to run in another group 1?

An absolute joke in my humble opinion. I feel for the connections of the horse(s) who get caught in a traffic jam when this squib compounds about 600 metres from home.
"Melbourne Cup placegetter, Xcellent’s autumn campaign in serious doubt after straining a flexor tendon in the at trackwork this morning.
Swelling was discovered in Xcellent’s near side leg by Michael Mor*ney’s co-trainer Andrew Scott after the horse galloped this morning.

Scans will be done later today to discover the full extent of the injury but it appears the horse will be out of action for at least three months.

Xcellent has won six of his nine starts including four New Zealand Group One races earning $3.75 million in prizemoney."
Just read the following article on the expertform website, surely Mr Frankel cannot be serious:

Alinghi gallops for Frankel

Top US trainer Bob Frankel told Sport927 this morning that star Australian mare Alinghi had her first serious gallop this morning in California.

"She worked along nice, I am very pleased with her," Frankel said.

"I have had success with other "down under" horses like Happyanunoit, but having this filly here excites me as she looks to be better than those others."

Frankel said he has studied Alinghi`s races on video and believes he can train her to race first-up over 1600 metres.

"I think two of her best runs were at 1600 metres. There is a stakes race for mares for her in August but that is a mile and an eight, so I might look for a suitable Allowance race for her to start off in over a mile," he said.

Frankel added that the aim was to build Alinghi towards the Breeders` Cup Mile in November.
