With the Sydney carnival only a week or two away from finishing up, all attention will turn to Brisbane. Anybody out there got any thoughts on what will be worth following through the carnival. Below is a list of horses which i'm hoping might be carnival players, but any info would be appreciated.

Last night i was up watching Cannington dogs and i saw race 9 had 4 runners in it. I decided to have a lazy ten on the exacta of the second favourite to beat the hot favourite. The exacta got up, and i waited and waited for the dividend to go into my supertab account, but nothing. I checked my statement and saw the bet was placed. Nearly twenty minutes after the race i found out the tab refunded my $10 outlay and declared the race abandoned. No idea why. The thing that is ticking me off, is that i checked the unitab website, and they payed out all dividends on the race, obviously declaring the race official. I checked the results on a couple of betting agencies, and they too, payed out dividends on the race. The NSW tab showed the dividends in race 10 for the running double, paying out on number 1 winning the first leg(race 9). Now can a race be called a no race in one state, but be classified an official race everywhere else. Surely it's either a race everywhere, or a no race everywhere. I cant cop supertab making there own mind up. I will be taking this further, and if the other states are paying out, they can pay me. Not happy !!!!!

Just looking at the nom's for the weekends racing, and i see he has nominated 54 horses over the four main metro meetings. I would like to get some opinions on how he is travelling at the moment, considering what he has in his barn. Your thoughts please, and has he got a special one in his stable that we should follow with confidence.

Going to have a crack at these runners on saturday, assuming they accept. Will i be better off throwing my cash into a fire, or do any of these have potential for a return. Some are dual nominated in two states.

Anybody out there know of the progress of a 5yo called Gallein ? I saw this horse win back in November or December at either Kembla or Newcastle, and the win was devastating. The horse is trained by Graeme Begg, and has had just two starts. After a series of mediocre barrier trials, he then debuted at Canterbury i think and finished midfield. Then at his second start, he started favourite, settled a mile back, and was still a mile back with 400m to go, then unleashed a powerful burst to flash home and win running away with the whip put away.I have been waiting for him to step out again, but when that is, i have no idea. Keep your eye on him in the future.

After 2-3 years in limbo with night shift, i have now started a new job and my life is back to a normal state. I thought to myself, why not join the bandwagon and come back with all these other hacks returning, led by my old mate Klimmy. I look forward to catching up with some old forum friends (and hopefully not too many enemies), and logging in on a regular basis and being a solid contributor.

I'd like to hear any thoughts from our kiwi patrons(and aussies) on the upcoming big races. Personally i just cant wait for the derby, as fixed odds will offer you $16 on the up and coming superstar of NZ racing, JUNGLE BOOTS......
His only three runs, have been terrific.
On debut he came from last with a barnstorming finish and won by over two lengths, with plenty in hand. IMPRESSIVE !
At his second run he ran unplaced, but could not get a clear run all the way up the straight, and went over the line with plenty left in the tank. UNLUCKY !!!!
At his third run he ran second to the current derby favourite in Le Baron. JB surged to the front but was ran down by Le Baron half way up the straight, when he was as green as grass, and ran all over the shop. Once straightened again, he made ground on Le Baron, and imo will be much better with experience. So in washing up, i dont think you can go wrong backing Jungle Boots at it's current price of $16. He's nominated to run this saturday, so we'll get a much better idea.
As for the Magic Millions this saturday, Express Air looks a good thing in my mind in the 3yo race.

I would just like to start the annual xmas post and wish everyone a very merry xmas and a happy new year. I would like to thank everyone on this site for giving me much enjoyment throughout the '08 season. I would also like to thank everyone that has ran competitions on here, and also everyone that has been a part of the couple i've ran. Can i finally wish everyones families remain fit and healthy over the festive break, and travel safely when on holidays.

Well its only been a lazy nine weeks since the last leaderboard was posted, but i have finally caught up with all the results and worked out the leaderboard. With only three weeks to go for the year, it looks like a deadset Todman benefit, but it aint over till the fat lady starts giving her lungs one hell of a time. One big result, and the scoreboard changes in a heartbeat. I apologise for being just awful with getting results up, and hopefully i can get back up to a standard thats acceptable. It just shows how disgraceful i'm going, by ny position on the ladder...PATHETIC !!!!!
