A very intersting week with winners, close calls, exceptional use of the Diva, controversy and protests being fired in!
Clubby placed 5 selections (which all got up!) and used the Diva. Great tipping, but as the rules state a 2, 3 or 4 selection all up I took the first four selections.
Johnsjac picked a successful 4 horse all up place bet and also used his Diva. An excellent stategy to get on the board and try and pick up a free bet next week!
Benny_g was also successful and also used the Diva! The third leg of the treble was scratched and reverted to a 2 selection all up as per the rules.
The hard luck stories were Jet who got 1/2 so his $20 all up investment (for winning last week) didn't come in. If Matey had run a drum the collect would have been about $140 after the first leg saluted. Tough luck, (dare I say it!) Matey.(Ironically the sub got up)

There seems to be lots of complaints about the lack of quality posts and comments. I guess the only way to attempt to rectify that is to try and get some quality debate happening.
I'm in Victoria and get really annoyed that we don't have flexi betting here. When we go to NSW for golf weekends, everyone gets involved in multiples because of the flexibetting. Even guys who don't normally bet throw their $100 in and have a ball.
I've heard people say it diminishes the dividends and the pros hate it. My observations are that the NSW trifectas pay significantly more than supertab on average. Surely the bigger the pool, the bigger the dividend in most cases.
And really, how many pros bet on trifectas? Sure some big punters do, but they really can't be classed as pros. Pros know what return they want for the outlay and would only nibble at trifectas with exceptionally large pools like the Melb. Cup. They take fixed odds based on their assesments and trifectas don't fit the professional punters modus operandi.
Anyway, I'm really keen to hear forumites' opinions on the flexi bet. I for one can't wait for it to come to Vic.

Wow! We have our second winner and a new leader plus another 9 close/hard luck stories.
An amazing effort by Jet who tipped in Brisbane. Fires of Ireland into Katenian all up the place. FOI runs second at $80 and pays $15.60 the place and K wins paying $16.80 the win and $3.80 the place.
To make things even sweeter, Jet used the Diva to double the collect for a result of $118.60 and a clear leader over Ant in second with $54.05.
Well done champ. Brilliant use of the Diva. Just to illustrate the magic of all up/parlay betting. If Jet had place a $1 all up place the collect would have been $59.30, or a $1 each way all up would have netted $325.95 for only $4.
So Jet gets a free bet on his selections next week. $20 all up on a 2 horse selection, $1 e/w parlay on a 3 horse selection or a $1 parlay on a 4 horse selection depending on the tips. (this weeks selections would have returned Jet $1186!)

Honourable mentions to wilsian, devil red and tkob who only missed one of their legs.
Three weeks to go and no Diva's (doubled value) used yet, so there's plenty of time to cash in.
Remember the overall winner gets a $50 all up, the runner up a $20 all up and weekly winners a $20 or $22 parlay.
