The Anthony Freedman-trained three-year-old gelding Tavistock Abbey appreciated the step up to 1600m at his third race start to score impressively here. He settled in sixth place, one off the rails, before improving nicely approaching the home turn. He dashed to the front at the 200m and then drew away to win easily. He looks a promising stayer and is a horse to watch.
