This looks a good form race. Promising Darren Weir-trained staying filly Anchor Bid followed her impressive win in the Byerley Handicap, 2YO (1800m) at Flemington on 22 July with a good first-up win here. She settled in sixth place, one off the rails, improved nicely nearing the home turn, got to the front at the 100m and held on to score comfortably. The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained filly Pinot soon worked to the lead and held on well for second at only her third race start while the Anthony Freedman-trained filly Think Diamonds caught the eye to take a late-finishing third.
