Centre Pivot followed a good debut second at Kembla a fortnight ago with an easy win here. The John O’Shea-trained colt raced in third spot on the rails, following a moderate tempo (first 800m 50.48). He moved up nicely three wide nearing the home turn, took the lead at the 200m and then drew clear to win comfortably by two and a half lengths, sprinting home in a smart 34.19 (last 600m). He went to the post well and looks suited to further. He looks a nice colt. The David Payne-trained filly Amaliehaven was third, but three wide without cover. She went very deep at the home turn, got to second passing the 200m and battled on nicely to hold that position to the post. *ANZ
